Most disappointing, their sausage rolls used to be awesome! a 9 out of 10 and one of the best anywhere!,They have now changed them, they are smaller and less meat, even the pastry is different, they've just dropped a banger in pastry, not a patch on the former sausage roll.Wont be buying them againProbably makes more profit, but I would rather they put the price up rather than compromise quality for logistics and profitability.
We chose Pyne's of Somerset to provide a hog roast for our wedding reception in September 2018 and couldnt be happier with our choice. They set up (and cleared up) everything themselves, were unfailingly polite to our guests, and most importantly the quality of the food was superb. The tastiest hog roast in Somerset!
Last Saturday (6th Oct 2018) I visited Pynes of Somerset with my partner and 8 year old son. Firstly on entering the premises the floor was extremely wet due to the weather, and NO warning signs of the slippery surfaces at all, my son slipped and fell very badly just on the threshold, right in front and in full view of the proprietor (Malcom Pyne) who saw the whole thing unfold and watched my partner lift my son up from the floor who then hobbled whilst trying to walk,. Malcom made absolutely no attempt to assist in any way not even enquiring if my son was ok or acknowledging what had unfolded, truly disgusting and not the community spirit one would expect from a so called local family business. We then spent a couple of minutes looking around the shop... only to find a selection of over priced, supermarket products... in fancy packaging!!!! The cheese counter at Tescos knocks spots off of Malcolms range, and considerably cheaper too. Not the mention the over priced, poor quality cuts of meat on offer!!!!!Very very disappointed and will definitely not be returning. Save your money folks and shop in Aldi, better customer service, parking, products and most definitely prices. Oh and warning signs !!!!!
Looks good with great reviews but cantonese ribs were beef and almost pure grissle. For 7( for two) I expected quality and got rubbish. First and last visitThat's two ribs by the way
Always an amazingly pleasurable, personal and indulgent experience. The staff are are lovely, Malcome is a true gent. Appetite activating range of lovely fresh, prepared and locally sourced products. Simply can't beat them. And that's before we start on the hot food counter with delicious pork, beef and breakfast rolls as well as roasts to go. Can't beat Pynes, privileged to call him my local butcher.
